ABOUT THE EDITOR

Vicente C. Villan, an educator at the University of the Philippines (Diliman) and a fellow at the University of the Philippines Asian Center, specializes in museology and heritage studies, local history, institutional and intellectual history, and historiography. He has authored books, journals, and scholarly articles about Visayan history and culture, Spanish Philippine colonial history, the Philippine revolution, and Asian civilization. He has received numerous grants and recognitions for his scholarship, including the Metro Manila Commission Diamond Jubilee Personal Chair Award in 2002, the Advanced Seminar on Southeast Asian Historiography Grant of the Southeast Asian Studies Regional Exchange Program in Bangkok in 2010, and the Centennial Professional Grant of UP Diliman in 2017.
